Exploration
I love to explore nature—hiking, backpacking, and camping in remote places.
The challenge of getting myself to a remote location using only my body’s strength, carrying everything I need to live comfortably for days, teaches me about organization, needs, risk management, and friendship.
Nature has a calming, focusing, and grounding effect. I find a connection to my environment essential to understand where we come from and what matters.

Planning Systems
Multi-day backpacking trips require careful planning:
- Route planning — elevation profiles, water sources, camping zones, bailout options
- Gear systems — weight optimization, redundancy decisions, weather contingencies
- Food and nutrition — calorie planning, resupply logistics, meal preparation
- Risk assessment — weather windows, party capabilities, emergency protocols
These planning disciplines translate directly to engineering and organizational systems. The same principles of preparation, contingency planning, and resource optimization apply whether you’re planning a 7-day traverse or a product launch.
