Birthday Cake Bus

The Birthday Cake Bus, or “Cake Bus”, was an art project by Flight To Mars, the Burning Man camp responsible for the fun house many remember in the years 2000-2005. It consisted of a city bus, refurbished with a metal deck, outside stairs to access it, an oval ring from which a dress of tulle pink fabric hung, and 8 candles each fed with propane. The steering column was extended to the top of the deck as well as gas and brake controls, such that it could be driven from above the driver’s seat. The project was expertely lead by Morgan Hammer.
